Anyhow, it’s getting fucking hot here in Sydney. Last weekend, Ben and I participated in something called a Big Gay Flash Mob on Bondi Beach. I’ve uploaded the official video above. Per Jolie’s instructions, I am here to tell you that while I’m not really in it because I’m out of camera range, you can glimpse me at 1:35 and 4:28. You can also see Ben doing the ‘Single Ladies’ choreography at 1:49.

I’m not sure that I’ve ever explained the genesis of EXCITED CLAPPING (other than, um, the obvious genesis that it is something I do often). And it’s sort of appropriate to share now, given the subject of this reblog, so here goes: During the very first Gawker Commenter meet-up I went to (yes, the one that ended in an orgy and damn it they do not make Gawker commenters like they used to.) I clapped excitedly when I learned that Richard (LOLCait Richard not Blakeley Richard, please) and I had attended the same school in Boston. And when I did the entire table broke into laughter. Apparently before I arrived they were guessing at what I’d be like (FUCKING NUTS IS RIGHT BITCHES) and one of them said, “I bet the supergoddess claps when she’s excited.”

Reader, I clapped excitedly.
